Since 2019 we have been on a journey to finalise our first full album. It has been a radical process as we have tried to learn new ways to approach music making. Our background is in the 90’s rock where groups used to play guitar oriented music. Making noise was the name of the game for us for a long time.
As we were busy in making our careers in the corporate world, music fundamentally changed. Guitar bands were no longer a standard and a great sound was something that could be created by anybody in one’s bedroom. Creativity was no longer limited by the studio time and expensive equipments.
HDRM was born to unite us three to study this new world of Digital Audio Workstations, plugins, samples, loops, MIDI-controllers and modern ways of producing ear-candy. Our upcoming album is the product of this process. We have been studying carefully great indie pop artists like Tame Impala, The 1975, M83 and MGMT to name only few. They have been our inspiration and guide to this new world of re-inventing ourselves.

Discotize
Discotize is our own term for our music production technique. First, the band performance is recorded. Then the original recording is sampled, looped, quantised, played again and recorded with a computer. This “discotized” performance acts as foundation for Toni to build his art on top of the creative fury coming from Jussi and Tuomas.
Creative minds united
HDRM is a union of three creative minds: Toni “Maestro” Kopra (vocals, guitar, songwriting, production), Tuomas “Tuomio” Manninen (bass, black and white keys) and Jussi “Champ” Lammi (drums). We share our passion to create music and dive deep into different aspects of life.
Toni is the architect and the master mind behind HDRM music. He writes the songs and pulls productions together. He is also the Voice of Finland 2020 drop-out.
Tuomas is the most musically educated HDRM member. He is the past student of a music high school and he has several certificates in music theory. He knows the keys.
Jussi is the national champion of rock in Finland. He is the one of us that has actually tasted success in music industry.
